Originally, Venetian lace decorated household linen. In Venice, lace first was used in
clerical vestments and later on fans, sheets and curtains, garments, and even shoes. Our
own Venetian Lace pattern bears a latticework motif that reflects the fine netting
associated with this Italian lace. For a feminine touch, the accent and butter plates,
cup, mug, sugar, and creamer feature a subtle floral lace design.
