Antique Minton transferware pieces in the Mottahedeh Rare Room were the inspiration for
a new pattern - Apples, Berries and Cherries. The fine earthenware pattern is adapted from
a design dating back to 1820. The original plate was a combination of hand-painted fruit
over a transfer decoration. This collection is remarkable for the soft, muted colors of
the fruit centers. The medium blue background features a complex design of tiny circles
and dots. The effusive design of the pattern and the unique shapes of the serving dishes
are sure to be popular.
